Follow these steps for successful installation. Before you get to work make sure youve selected the correct size and type of pipe, fittings, and solvent. Put all the materials and tools in a well-ventilated work area because solvent cement releases harmful vapors. Fittings should be matched after the pipes have been cut in order to make sure they connect perfectly. Once the pieces are cemented they are permanent, any mistake leads to a pipe being cut so align them well beforehand. The distance between the faces of the fittings should be measured. Also measure the depth of fitting holes and add to the first measurement. This makes the total length. Flexible plastic tubing - commonly made of polyurethane materials - are great for cold water plumbing use and uses whereas polybutelyne materials are the preferred choices by plumbing professionals for hot water piping . This is especially the case when it comes to hot water pipes leading from or even adjacent to hot water heaters -both gas and electric. If you use a clamping arrangement to attach an insert fitting , as opposed to bonding cements, then take good care and attention to tighten the 2 clamps fully with a screwdriver of your choice and preference. A portable flow meter does the exact same job with no risk of these things happening. There is no drop in pressure, no moving parts, and no risk of leaks. Once in place, a portable flow meter is completely maintenance free. The other huge advantage of using a portable flow meter is that it can be moved from site to site and be used to measure different parts of the pipe. Traditional flow meters do not offer this advantage. In addition, a portable ultrasonic flow meter is at least if not more accurate than the alternative methods. The reason for this is simple; it does not change the active system in any way while it is in operation. Hopefully this has helped to give you an idea of what a portable flow meter can do for you. The only way to really see how useful these tools are is to get one for yourself and try it out. Luckily for the most part the tools are not that expensive and can measure a wide variety of pipes.
